Black Queens of Ghana are in town
aiming to pull a fast one on their
Nigerian counterparts in All
African Games first leg qualifiers
billed for the National Stadium
Abuja on Sunday.
The Black Queens who have been
shut out of the London 2012
Olympics are hoping to console
themselves with a ticket for the
Maputo Games billed for
September.
However, Falcons coach, Eucheria
Uche stated that her girls are not
taking any chances with their
rivals.
“ We are looking forward to the
match. We are taking it as part of
our build to the world cup later in
the year and so it will be
approached with all seriousness, ”
said the coach.
The Super Falcons won the gold at
the 2007 All African Games in
Algeria. And going by the words
of the coach winning the gold in
Maputo is a top priority for the
team.
The Falcons fresh from a 9-0
aggregate win over Namibia in
the Olympic qualifiers. The coach
observed that Ghana is a different
team and she will be fielding her
best players against the Black
Queens.
Coach Anthony Edusei who
blamed his girls attitude for loss to
Ethiopia in the Olympic Qualifiers
is hoping for a massive turn
around and give Ghanaians
something to cheer most
especially when Ghana is suffering
loses at all fronts in under-age
football.
